Young Im is a founding member of Burling Wealth Partners and leads the firm’s investment committee and investment research function. Young brings over twenty-five years of investment expertise, including experience on the buy-side, sell-side and corporate finance. Prior to founding Burling, Young spent thirteen years as a senior investment professional at CI Segall Bryant & Hamill Asset Management, a registered investment advisor overseeing over $25 billion in client assets. He held a similar role at Talon Asset Management (now Bank of New York Mellon) and held the positions of Vice President, Equity Research at Robert W. Baird, and Vice President, Corporate Development at ABN AMRO.
A lifelong Chicagoan, Young is actively involved in his neighborhood and community. In addition to supporting various local non-profits, Young and his wife, Kathy were founding members of the Asian Giving Circle. For many years, he was a fixture at Hamlin Park, coaching baseball and softball teams. He is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Chicago.
Young earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Accounting from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He holds Chartered Financial Analyst® and Certified Public Accountant designations and has been in the financial services industry since 1995.
